  • Folder groups: subfolder-first grouped file list with collapse and whole-folder selection, in list and grid views
  • Breadcrumb path bar: click any segment to navigate, pencil toggle for paste-type entry
  • Right-click file context menu: Open, Reveal in Explorer, Compress, Copy path, Delete
  • Light / dark / auto theme toggle in the status bar, persisted across restarts
  • Delete moves files to backup/ instead of unlinking them, with per-file results
  • Sort order now persists across restarts
  • Settings panel restructure: quality + format up front, engine/threads/options/resize/rename behind Advanced settings

  • Square 1/1 grid thumbnails with true cover-crop, so portrait images no longer stretch cells
  • Overwrite mode always moves originals to backup/, including format conversions and renames
  • backup/ folders are excluded from scans, so moved originals never resurface in the list
  • Status bar and footer parity: engine line, saved pill with pulse, compress summary states

  • View toggle highlighted both buttons when list view was selected
  • Portrait previews stretched grid cells and broke visual consistency
  • Sort order reset to Name A-Z on every launch
  • Format conversions skipped the backup step when overwrite was enabled

Windows 10 1809 or later · 64-bit

Everything you need to run Compressy locally:

Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit — no WebView2, no runtime to install
~40 MB disk for app + space for backups if you keep them
Offline — no internet required after install
Signed installer (Authenticode) — SmartScreen-friendly
Verifying downloads

Check the SHA-256 before you install.

Each file's checksum is shown on its card. On Windows, run the hash command in PowerShell and compare before installing.

Portable .zip — unzip anywhere and run Compressy.exe. Settings live next to the executable.
